MIAMI (March 7, 2024) – The Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce announced today that Trish & Dan Bell, Philanthropists, will be honored with 2024 Sand in My Shoes® Award. The ceremony will take place on Wednesday, October 9, at Jungle Island from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

The Chamber’s Sand in My Shoes® Award is one of this community’s most prestigious accolades. Established in 1981, the award is presented to outstanding community leaders who have made significant contributions to the region, demonstrating a deep love and commitment to Miami as the best possible place in which to live, work and play.

For more than 40 years, Trish and Dan Bell have dedicated themselves to enhancing our community through their leadership and philanthropic endeavors. Their primary focus has been on creating opportunities to uplift underserved individuals who lack the necessary resources and support to thrive independently. The Bells provide significant philanthropic support to a wide range of community service and cultural organizations. Among the recipients of their largest gifts are the United Methodist Church, Chapman Partnership, Branches, the Frost Museum of Science and Baptist and Jackson Hospitals. Most recently, the Bells also became the principal funders of the new multi-faith

“Trish and Dan Bell Chapel” now being constructed on the main campus of Florida International University. “Trish & Dan Bell’s dedication to philanthropy has had a profound impact on our community, inspiring others to give back, and making a lasting difference in the lives of those in need,” said Alfred Sanchez, president and CEO of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce. “Their generosity and compassion serve as shining examples for us all, and we are thrilled to recognize their contributions with this prestigious award.”

“We are honored to receive the Sand in My Shoes® award and proud that the Miami business community embraces our efforts to make a meaningful impact on our community,” said Trish and Dan Bell. “We are truly grateful for this honor and motivated to continue serving and embracing the Greater Miami area for the betterment of its residents. They join a remarkable list of some of Greater Miami’s most influential business and community leaders, including recent honorees Alberto Ibargüen, Manuel “Manny” Medina, David Lawrence, Jr., Penny Shaffer and Antonio “Tony” Argiz, whose tireless efforts have enhanced our community through a combination of passion, performance, dedication, and devotion.
