Transportation

A well-functioning system of transportation is essential for Miami to continue to grow and thrive as an international center of commerce. Efficient transportation networks are crucial to the movement of products, the connectivity of essential services, and the attraction of new businesses and a skilled labor force. The Chamber advocates for transit system solutions and works with our government partners to secure necessary funding.

Traffic in Miami-Dade is a significant issue, with the city ranked among the worst in the U.S. for commuter delays. The Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce Transportation Committee aims to address these challenges by working with public and private entities at the local, state, and federal levels to improve transportation systems. The Transportation Committee works to leverage partnerships and dialogue between the business community, transportation officials, and local, state, and federal governmental agencies in order to improve transportation infrastructure and mobility through educational forums, legislative and policy initiatives, and improved ridership in mass transit. Its objectives include advocating for transit solutions, educating the business community, and building partnerships to improve transportation in the county.

Participation in our Transportation Committee is open to all Greater Miami Chamber members in good standing who have interests or concerns related to transportation issues. Committee members include community organizations, professionals within the transportation arena, private sector advocacy groups, engineers, educational organizations, and concerned citizens.
