Resilience

In Greater Miami, the environment is our business. Tourism, agriculture, trade, and an explosive real estate market have all resulted from our attractive beaches and climate. The Chamber believes that finding resilient solutions to mitigate the environmental threats posed by rising sea levels and severe weather must include the business community. Throughout history, answers to humanities intractable problems and greatest advances have come from the business sector. With over $53.6 billion in just real estate value being exposed, we have every reason to invest in these solutions.

The Resilience Committee's objectives include enhancing collaboration to help the community recover from stressors, investing in resilient infrastructure, addressing climate change impacts, improving water quality, and restoring Biscayne Bay and Coral Reefs. Open to all Chamber members, The Resilience Committee looks to engage and impact key governmental and private sector stakeholders to advance solutions and actions protecting our natural resources and supporting the Resilient 305 Strategy – 100 Resilient Cities initiative. The Committee acts on multiple fronts and partners with other Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce committees to address these challenges.

Participation in the Resilience Committee is open to all Greater Miami Chamber members in good standing who have interests or concerns in this arena. Committee members include a broad range of professionals including real estate professionals, urban-based businesses, schools, incubators, City and County officials, along with non-governmental organizations.
