Seven Illustrious M-DCPS Graduates Inducted into Alumni Hall of Fame Class of 2023

Seven celebrated and illustrious graduates of Miami-Dade’s public schools have been inducted into Miami-Dade County Public Schools’ (M-DCPS) Alumni Hall of Fame for their post-secondary and professional achievements.

With the addition of this year’s inductees, the number of Alumni Hall of Fame members rises to 53. They are examples of the extraordinary talent cultivated in our public schools and now shining on the national stage.

Joining the ranks of esteemed alumni who reflect the rich history of Miami-Dade’s schools and representing the Class of 2023 are the following:

Ketanji Brown Jackson - Miami Palmetto Senior High – Class of 1988
Graduate of Harvard University. First Black woman to serve on the United States Supreme Court. First former federal public defender to serve on the Supreme Court and Vice Chair of the U.S. Sentencing Commission.

Albert E. Dotson Jr. - Miami Palmetto Senior High – Class of 1978
Graduate of Dartmouth College and Vanderbilt University Law. Managing partner at Bilzin Sumberg and member of the Florida National Judicial Nominating Commission. Chairman emeritus of 100 Black Men.

Gerald C. Grant, Jr. - Miami Edison Senior High – Class of 1973
Graduate of Florida International University. President of G Financial Group. Former Branch Director of Equitable Advisors Financial Planning and author of “Bold Moves to Creating Financial Wealth.”

James Haj - Southwest Miami Senior High - Class of 1986
Graduate of the University of Miami and Florida State University. Chief Executive Officer of The Children’s Trust. Former administrator at Miami-Dade County Public Schools and the 2022 recipient of the Miami Coalition for Christians and Jews Silver Medallion Award.

Udonis Haslem - Miami Senior High - Class of 1998
Graduate of the University of Florida.  Longest-tenured National Basketball Association (NBA) player and three-time NBA Champion with the Miami HEAT. First undrafted NBA player in history to set a franchise rebounding record.

Roberto R. Muñoz - Miami Springs Senior High - Class of 1975
Graduate of Florida International University. Founder and President/Chief Operating Officer of ELITE Family Office. President and chairman of the Boy Scouts of America South Florida Council and chairman of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce.

Madeline Pumariega - Hialeah Senior High - Class of 1985
Graduate of St. Thomas and Florida Atlantic universities. First female president of Miami Dade College and first female and Hispanic Chancellor of the Florida College System. Former president of Take Stock in Children.
