Celebrating Excellence: The Chamber's 25th Annual Health Care Heroes® Awards Honors Remarkable Healthcare Professionals
The Chamber recently celebrated its 25th annual Health Care Heroes® awards event, honoring the exceptional dedication and service of healthcare professionals who have made a lasting impact on our community. This prestigious daytime ceremony recognized remarkable individuals and organizations within the healthcare industry, highlighting their contributions to both the public and the business community.
The event began with Dr. Eneida O. Roldan, MD, MPH, MBA, Chair of the Healthcare Committee, expressing heartfelt gratitude for the unwavering dedication of healthcare professionals. Gale S. Nelson, Nonprofit Committee Chair, then kicked off the ceremony with a champagne toast and special recognition of the 25th anniversary, underscoring the significance of this milestone.
A notable highlight of the event was the recognition of Luis Chiappy as our Founding Sponsor. Chiappy was honored by Alfred Sanchez with a rare certificate of stock in the Chamber. He then had the privilege of presenting the Equitable Advisors Lifetime Achievement Award to Nelson L. Adams, III, founder of Metro Miami OBGYN Associates, for his outstanding contributions to the field. Nelson, a native Miamian, has delivered over 10,000 babies and firmly believes that a healthy mother, as the healthcare provider and decision maker for the family, leads to a healthy family. This, in turn, can lead to a healthy community, neighborhood, city, state, and perhaps even the world. We extend our deepest gratitude to Dr. Adams for all his contributions to this community and the field of healthcare.
The ceremony also celebrated the achievements of the following outstanding award winners:
- Youth Volunteers: Aiden Barreras and Ana Pujol
- Individual of Merit: Jayne Sylvester Malfitano
- Health Care Professional: Nicholas Namias
- Organization/Program: Nicklaus Children’s Baby Step Program
- First Responder: Willie Williams
- Nurse Award Recipient: Elizabeth Joseph
We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the honorees for their outstanding contributions to our community. We also express our gratitude to our sponsors for their unwavering support. We look forward to seeing you all again in May 2025!
