The annual Women Leaders Forum connects, educates, empowers, and inspires women. This year’s theme is “She Means Business: Insights and Inspiration from Top Women Entrepreneurs" with keynote speaker Erika Obando, TedX International Speaker, Author and President of TPE Coaching and Consulting. A panel discussion will follow, moderated by Jackie Nespral, NBC 6 news anchor. The panel will feature women entrepreneurs Alexandra Fuente, CEO and Founder of Woxer, Gina McLean, co-founder of SkinLocal, and Yesenia Moreno, President and CEO of Florida Banking Forum and Managing Partner of New Edge Associates, sharing their personal journeys through the challenges and triumphs of building a business.

Erika Obando, Keynote

Erika Obando is a globally acclaimed TEDx Speaker, Author, Certified Master Life Coach, and President of TPE Coaching & Consulting. Jackie Nespral, Panel Moderator

Emmy® Award -winning journalist Jackie Nespral became the first Hispanic ever to anchor a network news program when she was tapped for NBC's Weekend Today show in 1992.

After commuting between Miami and New York for three years, she chose to continue her career in South Florida with NBC 6. She currently anchors “NBC 6 News” at 5pm and 6pm alongside NBC 6 anchor Jawan Strader. Jackie is also the host of Impact, a locally produced half-hour show dedicated to politics and current events, which airs Sundays at 9:30am.

While with NBC news, Nespral became known for her interviews with prominent figures, ranging from national and international leaders to celebrities. She has extensive experience covering stories such as the first US presidential visit to Havana, Papal visits to Cuba, presidential inaugurations, presidential debates, hurricanes, and the World Series and NBA championships among others. Her work has been recognized with six Emmy® Awards and a Silver Circle Award for her work of more than 30 years in the industry.

Prior to Joining NBC news, Nespral was the anchor of the one-hour live national newscast of “Noticias y Más” at the Univision network in 1991. She also worked as a reporter and weekend anchor for “Televisión Marti” and Dynamic Cablevision, a CNN affiliate in Miami.

A South Florida native, Nespral has remained a familiar face throughout the community. She is a former member of the Board of Trustees of the University of Miami where she also served as the first Hispanic woman president of the University of Miami Alumni Association. She is also on the board and actively involved in Amigos for Kids.

Alexandra “Alex” Fuente is an entrepreneur and the founder of Woxer, a self-funded women’s underwear brand. Woxer launched in 2019 and has quickly grown to profitability with a global customer base. Alex designed Woxer as a boxer brief tailored to women, focused on comfort, health, and sustainability. Woxer is taking a stand by redefining the women’s underwear space and creating a new definition and a new word - Woxer - that will come to symbolize female empowerment. Prior to founding Woxer Alex served as President of a direct response TV company that grew 850% in three years. She holds a degree in Finance from Florida International University.

Gina is a busy mom to three energetic boys and a savvy entrepreneur. She leverages her expert medical insights to handpick the most effective treatments and skincare solutions, ensuring her patients and her own routine stay flawless. Gina’s blend of professional prowess and personal touch makes her a true trendsetter in the skincare world.
