The Healthcare Committee empowers Chamber members to implement impactful health and wellness initiatives for employees and the broader community, supports efforts to strengthen local healthcare and the systems that deliver it, and champions South Florida as a world-class region for health, business, and quality of life.
Objectives
• Sustain and expand the Healthcare Committee’s signature programs to deliver continued value to Chamber members and the broader community.
• Support Chamber members in navigating healthcare options to enhance their confidence, satisfaction, and ability to offer high-quality, cost-effective benefits to employees.
• Promote the strategic role of healthcare in attracting and retaining top talent, fostering a healthy, high-performing workforce, and positioning Miami as a health-conscious, innovation-driven community.
• Address key population health challenges in Miami-Dade that impact the business ecosystem, and identify opportunities where Chamber engagement can drive meaningful, measurable change.
• Advance awareness, dialogue, and coordinated action around emerging health issues affecting workforce productivity and community well-being, with a focus on evolving regional priorities.
Participation in the Healthcare Committee is open to all Chamber members with an interest in health and healthcare. Key stakeholders include healthcare systems, employers, insurers, providers, community organizations, life sciences companies, behavioral health organizations, public health professionals, academic institutions, health tech companies, social service agencies, faith-based groups, local government, and patient advocacy organizations. Together, these diverse groups collaborate to drive innovative solutions and improve health outcomes across South Florida.
The Committee Chair and Vice Chair are responsible for the effective functioning of the Healthcare Committee, ensuring its goals and activities are aligned with the committee’s mission and objectives, with the Chamber’s strategic plan and priorities, and fosters engagement across the Chamber, the business sector, and the broader health community.
