Sports Goals

Produce the Chamber’s 19th annual Sports Hall of Champions event in the fall of 2010:

  • Elevate profile and awareness of the event
  • Make use of high profile alumni and celebrity guests

  • Increase attendance and corporate support by working with the Sports Commission; engaging Miami teams in the promotion of the event, in support of its awardees; and reaching out to other chambers and partners in Broward and Palm Beach Counties to contribute towards its success

Support existing teams, events and facilities that are Chamber members and supporters: 

  • Miami Marlins and new Marlins Ballpark
  • Miami Dolphins
  • Miami FC
  • Miami Heat
  • Homestead-Miami Speedway, NASCAR and Indy Racing League
  • Orange Bowl Committee
  • Sony Ericsson Open
  • University of Miami
  • Florida International University
  • Barry University
  • Florida Atlantic University
  • Miami Dade College
  • Utilize Chamber communication vehicles to promote special opportunities and offers

Work with Miami Dade Sports Commission and associated properties to support efforts to attract major sporting events to South Florida:

  • Work Cup Bid
  • Pan American Games
  • Sunshine State Games
  • Volvo Ocean Race
  • High School State Championships

Continue efforts to cross promote local sports teams and events around concrete initiatives:

  • Develop joint Sports Fan Festival with all teams, venues and properties participation
