Transportation & Infrastructure Goals

Provide guidance on funding and policies in upcoming 2012 federal surface transportation act, including the encouragement of public/private partnerships (P3) by minimizing excessive or unnecessary federal reporting requirements.

Advocate full funding for the High Speed Rail PD&E/environmental study for the Orlando to Miami segment.

Continue to provide a leadership role for the transition of MOV’N to Implementing Mobility Solutions, including:

Continue momemtum of implementing planned improvements along main corridors
Bicycle and pedestrian improvement solutions

Actively support Legislative Funding Priorities, including:

Port of Miami Deep Dredge Project - $75 million
NW 25th Street/Phase 2
Increase of Passenger Facility Charges from $4.50 to $7.00
Reconcile TSA reimbursement percentage from 75% to 90% - $11 million
I-395 Reconstruction
US 1 Busway/Express Lanes Conversion
Establishment of an Institute for Intermodal Transportation at Miami Dade College focusing on workforce development

Actively support investments to increase Intermodal/Multimodal solutions in the region, including:

Revised People's Transportation Plan
Southeast Florida FEC project
Transit "State of Good Repair"
